Welcome to 7th Grade World History. In this class, you will learn to think historically, rather than emphasize the memorization of facts, names, and dates. There will be an emphasis placed on skills and habits of the mind, which will help you acquire the ability to understand and learn from key events, social changes, and documents.
Mr. Petty will expect you to leave his class a better active thinker and a more engaged citizen by the end of the year. You will achieve this by understanding the importance of context, evidence, and chronology from four eras of World History:
Each unit will cover the geography, development, culture, and legacy of each period of history.
